10/1/49 Joe DiMaggio "Thank the Good Lord for Making Me a Yankee" Ticket Stub PSA GD 2 (Pop 1 - One Higher)
Though he actually played two more seasons, the New York Yankees celebrated Joe DiMaggio Day at Yankee Stadium on October 1, 1949, during which time the Yankee Clipper uttered the immortal line, "I'd like to thank the good Lord for making me a Yankee." Stub measures 1.75x2.75" with minor paper loss where it was torn and some rounding at the corners, though the print remains clear. Encapsulated by PSA and graded GD 2, this is a POP 1 of this exceedingly rare ticket with only one higher (graded PSA 3). The game itself was significant as Joltin' Joe had two hits as the Yankees beat the Red Sox to tie for first place in the American League. The Bronx Bombers won again the next day to clinch the pennant and went on to capture the World Series.
