1863-1963 Saratoga Racing Centennial Banner

1863-1963 Saratoga Racing Centennial Banner

Thoroughbred racing began at Saratoga Springs in upstate New York in 1863, right in the heart of the Civil War. A century later, the town that has come to be synonymous with horses celebrated a centennial, and this 33.5" x 29" off-white banner flew during the community-wide celebration. Obtained in New York State, it exhibits some staining and reads: "WELCOME SARATOGA RACING CENTENNIAL 1863 1963."
