1870s Atlantic City Jockey Club Poster

Unique and not often seen advertising poster for "The First Grand Race," held in Atlantic City. This 18x24" promotional piece features an image of a two-horse drawn carriage and the names of all 16 contestants. To be held on Thanksgiving Day, the winners of this prestigious race would receive a "Solid Gold Hunting Case Watch," "Elegant Set of Track Harness," "Handsome Hose Blanket," or a "Fine Carriage Whip, and box of Segars." Mounted on linen, this piece has had some restoration performed, but not a heavy amount. 21.5x27.5" framed.
