Great lot of tobacco cards representing Union and Confederate generals of the American Civil War. Produced for Honest Long Cut tobacco (Duke) by Knapp & Co, the cards are entitled ‘A Short History of…’ followed by the general’s name. Cards for Gens. Johnston, Morgan, Gilmore, Sedgwick, Halleck, Banks, Stuart, Meade, Hooker, Pickett, Hancock, Logan, Scott, Price, Early and Foote are included, with an obverse picturing the general and a civil war scene and the reverse offering a brief bio of the general. Overall the cards grade 4 EX, 6 VG-EX, 3 VG and 3 lesser. A gorgeous set with very clean fronts and backs and outstanding eye-appeal. Total of 16 cards.
