Eventual winner, The Mayflower, is illustrated on the cover of this two-page program for the “America’s Cup Races, 1886,” as well as an endorsement by the program’s sponsor, The Daily Tribune, in their “Toast to the Mayflower: ‘May the American sloop win,’” and in their toast to Scotland’s Galatea (inside cover), “May the Galatea never be beaten, except by an American sloop.” Program shows NYC route, competing sloops’ measurements, and brief history of competition.
