1890's Football and Tennis Hurricane Lamp
The earliest sports Hurricane or Gone-with-the-Wind lamp we have seen. The top glass shade is decorated with hand painted images of a football, tennis racket and crocket mallet, arranged amongst ribbons and floral which is typical in the decoration of Victorian home furnishings. Tennis racket is also depicted on the bottom glass shade. The base is made of ornate brass, as are the lamp's working components. Measures 20" high and EX-MT.
