A specimen of the early innovators of college football. Taken in 1891, this picture of the Springfield Football Team Cabinet includes basketball inventor & football helmet innovator James Naismith and early football tactician Amos Alonzo Stagg. The bottom of the photo reads "1891, Springfield" in Naismith's script and on the back is written "Springfield, Mass. football team 2nd from left standing". Measuring at 3 3/4"x5 3/4", the photo and mount are in Good condition.
