1895 Temple Cup World Championship Program
Wonderful and oft-forgotten baseball history in this 1895 scorecard for the "World Championship Series" prize known as the Temple Cup. Measuring 7x10", the paper stock program features Cleveland vs. Baltimore, specifically from the former's home games of October 2, 3, and 5 of that year. After the folding of the American Association in 1891, the National League was the only pro game in town and the Temple Cup was a trophy presented from 1894-97 to the winner of a series between the top two teams. Baltimore claimed the first three titles before Boston captured the final one in 1897. Rare artifact from baseball lore dating back a century and a quarter.
