1896 Milwaukee Ball Park Cabinet Photo
An unbelievable 1896 cabinet photo of the Milwaukee Ball Park during an unidentified game (the AA Milwaukee Brewers played in 1891 and a new Brewer team in the AL in 1901 before becoming the St. Louis Browns) in gorgeous sepia tones played before a grandstand and bleachers under a cloudless summer sky. 3.5 x 4.5 photo laminated to 5.5 x 6.5" shows game from behind 3rd base, with a coach, 2 on-deck hitters and players on benches all within large chalk-lined boxes, as flags fly lazily from the grandstand. Handwritten "1896" on top of card and "Milwaukee Ball Park" on bottom in blue ink. Back has handwritten "Taken by G.E. Houtkamp, 1896." Cabinet card is amazingly NRMT.
