1904 Tommy Ryan vs. Jack Root Unused Boxing Ticket
From the beginning the bout looked like a fake one. During the fourth round, Root knocked Ryan down with a light punch. It looked like Ryan was dazed. Referee Jack McGuigan declared the bout to be fake and left the ring. The fighters had to be escorted through the crowd. November 23, 1904 at the National Athletic Club. Only defects are a corner chip at lower left, minor staining and tiny repaired tear. Stub firmly attached. Rare ticket we have never seen before.
