1908 & 1909 Brooklyn Dodgers Programs

1908 & 1909 Brooklyn Dodgers Programs

Before they became the Bums of Brooklyn the Dodgers were known as the Brooklyn Superbas. In 1908, they played 154 games, winning a paltry 53. They played their home games at Washington Park. 1909 wasn’t much better when they won 55 games. Official program from each of these two seasons, both with ads for Adams’ Pepsin Tutti Frutti Chewing Gum. Reverse of ’09 program has an odd drawing, an ad for Ben Hur Racers and an invitation to a benefit for the Spruce Street Settlement in 1908. The ‘08 program is 6-3/8 X 9-5/8” and the ’09 one is 6-7/8 X 10-1/8.” Both programs are scored in pencil and in NEAR MINT condition.
