1908-09 Hobey Baker Photograph Collection (13)
The only sports photos (hockey included) of the greatest American hockey player ever offered for public sale. Baker was indicted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1977. These are the original football team and class photos from Baker's high school team, the prep school of St. Paul in Concord, New Hampshire. All are on their original cardboard mounts with photographer's name (Kimball) on the mount and "Concord, NH." 1) Huge school photo with Hobey in sports sweater (17x10"). 2) The "S.P.S. Foot-Ball Eleven 1909" with Hobey identified ("Baker" in ink) in the front row (11x14"). 3) Giant procession of footballers with Hobey Baker in the front row (of course, he was the best) 17x10". 4) "S.P.S. Foot-Ball Eleven 1909" with Hobey in front row (11x14"). 5) "S.P.S. Foot-Ball Eleven 1908" with Hobey joined by his brother (11x14"). 6) "Isthmian Foot-Ball Eleven 1909." Hobey in center holding painted ball (11x14"). 7 - 13) Collection of seven action shots each measure 8x6". We cannot make him out in any but his brother is shown in two. Overall excellent with beautiful contrast. These are from the estate of a teammate of the legendary Hobey Baker.
