1909 Detroit Tigers Program

1909 Detroit Tigers Program

With a seating capacity of only 14,000, Detroit's since-razed Bennett Park was anything but ostentatious. But oh, what a history it had during its brief run as home to three straight A.L. champion Tigers clubs and as the site of the only two World Series titles clinched by the Chicago Cubs. While it stands to reason that Bennett Park memorabilia is scarce, this 1909 program is exceedingly appealing. The 12-page guide measures 10x7" with thick stock covers and pages lined with advertisements for local establishments. The beautifully designed cover also contains the same graphics as the 1909 World Series program. The inside scoring grids feature pre-printed lineups listing legends such as Collins, Baker, Cobb and Crawford. The program is scored and contains some chipping to the edges and a few light stains. Overall a nice example of a very scarce program to come across.
