1909 President William Howard Taft Baseball Statue
President William Howard Taft (1909-1913), donning a straw hat and holding a baseball, as he was a well-known fan of the sport and the first president to throw out an Opening Day pitch. This chalk figurine stands 4 ?” short, and has engraved on stout stomach, “Bill the Beamer,” while “Our Mascot” is engraved on his back. Wobbling, concave bottom has “Bill the Beamer Co.
