Probably one of the greatest athletes ever, in this intriguing shot by the ultimate baseball photographer Charles M. Conlon. Thorpe's baseball achievements paled next to his football and Olympic exploits, but here as a New York Giant somewhere between 1913 and 1918 he sure looks good. The focus is so sharp at his spiked feet that you can almost smell the grass. A gold-medal acquisition for any Thorpe collector. Verso has Conlon's stamp and in Conlon's hand, "Jim Thorpe Giants". Condition of this 8x10 print is VG.
