1911 August Herrmann Signed Letter
August Herrmann was the president of the Cincinnati Reds from 1902 to 1927. As the president of baseball's National Commission from 1903 to 1920 he is often thought of as having filled the role of baseball commissioner before that position was officially established in 1920. Typed letter, dated Dec. 29, 1911, written on "The National Commission" letterhead, discussing an issue for an upcoming meeting. Signed in black fountain pen. Letter is EX-MT with mailing folds. Signature is 7/10.
