1912 Christy Mathewson Presentational Bust
Spectacular 7 5/8" tall plaster bust is an amazing image of the greatest pitcher of his time (if not ALL time). The front is brilliantly incised "Christy Mathewson May 4, 1912 at the Polo Grounds". The back is inscribed to the presentee, "To J.S. Creoar, M.D. - A.A. Sander, Sr." There is speculation that this may have been presented due to Matty's efforts to unionize Major League Baseball in that year (1912). EX-MT. Ex-Barry Halper Collection.
