1912 Giants Vs. Red Sox World Series Program
What a year! In a 152-game season, the Giants scored 103 victories, and the Red Sox, not to be outdone, and playing in a brand-new Fenway Park, rack up 105 wins. The Series was hotly contested, and went to eight games (one tied). In the final game at Fenway Park, the Giants were leading 2-1in the 10th inning, and then lost, largely due to a routine fly ball dropped by centerfielder Fred Snodgrass, who was never allowed to forget that moment. The 9” x 11”, 16 pp. program has large team photos, as well as individual photos of league and team executives, including Manager John McGraw and superstar Christy Mathewson. Of added interest is a large group photo of sportswriters, including Grantland Rice, Damon Runyon and nine others. Outstanding! Contents also include the expected scorecard and a variety of period advertising. Condition: VG, with front cover detached and the back cover missing. Condition otherwise is EX.
