1917 World Series Last Out Baseball From Red Faber
This is the last out ball that won the Series for the 1917 White Sox (close to the same team as the infamous 1919 Black Sox). It comes from the estate of Urban Red Faber-Hall of Fame pitcher for the Sox. A letter of authenticity from his son is included with this ball. Written on this game used Official National League baseball is “World Series 1917, White Sox 4, NY Giants 2, Final Game, Faber vs. Benton. All of this was written in Red Faber’s hand. It was written later in his life because the original inscription that he put on this important baseball had faded. An 8 x 10 signed photo of Faber (NRMT) goes along with this lot. The ball is discolored but tight with excellent red and blue stiching.
