1919 Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds Postcard Proofs (2)
One lot of two extremely rare postcards printed and issued for the 1919 World Series. One pictures each member of the Chicago White Sox (also known as the Black Sox) and the other the Cincinnati Reds. Each player is identified including Joe Jackson, Urban Faber, Claude Williams, Eddie Cicotte, Chick Gandil, Ray Schalk, Kid Gleason, Buck Weaver, Eddie Collins, Hap Felsch, Swede Risberg, Ed Roush, Dolf Luque and more. The White Sox version has a postcard back, the Reds version does not. These are known postcards, however not with the "American Champions" and "National Champions" titles. Handcut, these were probably printer's proofs that some far-sighted fan kept as a souvenir. Excellent.
