1920's Brooklyn Dodgers Signatures with Wilbert Robinson
Back before their name officially became the Dodgers, no fewer than 19 players from the Superbas and the Robins signed these four separate sheets taken from a late-1920s autograph album. It was later taped together. The top piece of stationery is signed by Hall of Famers Dazzy Vance and Zack Wheat. Among the other notables here are Babe Herman and the tough-to-find Wilbert Robinson, whose name is smudged at the ending. The signatures in black fountain ink average 8/10 while the papers they are on are in VG condition with some creasing. Brooklyn didn't officially adopt the Dodgers nickname until 1932, the first year the team sported that nickname on its iconic uniform jerseys.
