1920 Jesse Haines Rookie Contract
With the stroke of the pen a Hall of Fame career was started. National League Players Contract signed in black ink by St. Louis hurler Jesse Haines, manager Branch Rickey, and NL President John Heydler. Haines & Rickey sigs are an 8 out of a possible 10, while Heydler’s although darker, is smudged from water in 3 spots, a 7/10. Contract stipulates a sum of $3,000 for his first season in which he would pitch over 300 innings. Measures 8.5x28” fully opened. Age has caused separation along its folds, which have been scotch taped. Condition is VG.
