1920s Babe Ruth Signing Wire Photo
This awesome International wire service photo of Babe Ruth signing his autograph in the Yankee dugout in the '20s was actually signed by Ruth as well! The other signature is from the guy holding the piece Ruth is signing -- Christy Walsh, the newspaper cartoonist who became Ruth's business manager and saved him from squandering his fortune. We don't know who the guy eagerly waiting for Ruth to sign a ball is. Both signatures are in blue fountain pen and merit solid 8/10s, with Walsh's a bit harder to see against his dark jacket. 6.5 x 8.5" photo is G-VG with some curling, light creasing and paper loss of the upper right and lower left corners. Back carries the International stamp
