1920s Detroit Tigers Style Jersey by Spalding

1920s Detroit Tigers Style Jersey by Spalding

Cream colored, mid-chest button-down, flannel pullover jersey with with gray pinstripes, collar, and button-path displays an Old English "D" over the left chest in navy blue and another "D" inside of a diamond on the left sleeve. Meanwhile, a period Spalding tag resides inside the collar. The jersey exhibits a uniform design motif which closely resembles a format employed by the Detroit Tigers, and was widely popularized by their best player, Ty Cobb. This exemplar most likely saw action in a local industrial or sandlot league. Despite its 100-year vintage, it remains in remarkably good condition and would be a welcome addition to most early 20th Century period displays.
