1920s Tom Mix Mutoscope

1920s Tom Mix Mutoscope

Fabulous coin-operated machine is homage to the true “King of the Cowboys” as a real western, film and radio icon. Deposit your nickel, look into the viewer and turn the brass crank and see the short subject “Matter of Seconds”. Original card at the top reads “Real Movies 5 cents” and pictures vintage photo of Tom riding a "Stagecoach" years before John Ford turned the Duke into a deity. Viewer works perfectly and is itself a work of art with cast metal florets and brass front plaque reading, “Manufactured by International Mutoscope Reel Company New York.” Machine has some paint loss (but is in its unrestored original state) and is in overall very good condition. Stands 73” tall including the original metal stand.
