1923 World Series Presentation Baseball with Babe Ruth, John McGraw & Miller Huggins (PSA/DNA LOA)
From the historic first World Series at Yankee Stadium (1923), this ball incredibly features the signatures of Babe Ruth, John McGraw, Miller Huggins, Nick Altrock and 1919 Cincinnati Reds manager Pat Moran (deceased 1929). The ball is mounted on wood base acting as a "blotter" for the old fountain pen ink; a signed baseball makes the perfect receptacle. The 1923 World Series Yankee Stadium event gift that was organized by Babe Ruth's agent, Christy Walsh, the Official American League ball is signed in black fountain ink with legendary New York Giants manager John McGraw on the sweet spot. The McGraw, Huggins and Moran autographs are very bold and among the finest examples for each that you will come across. Minus a couple of imperfections, the three examples grade 9/10. The Altrock and Ruth signatures grade 6 and 4, respectively. Each of the signers on this ball was a celebrity columnist for the Christy Walsh Syndicate, and presentational baseballs such as this were a highly-prized gift presented to "WM. B. CRAIG." Comes with a PSA/DNA LOA.
