1924 Clark Griffith Signed Washington Senators Player Contract
Fascinating contract signed by Hall of Famer Clark Griffith in 1924. At the time, Griffith was the owner of the Washington Senators, having played and managed for nearly three decades until his retirement in 1920. In the contract, the thrifty Griffith enlists the services of Ossie Bluege at the rate of $4,000 for the season. The tri-fold contract has holes on the top and side, but is otherwise EX. Griffith's signature rates 8/10. The Senators won the World Series in 1924 and Bluege would go on to serve the organization in some capacity for 50 years.
