1924 World Tour Signed Ledger Page
A fabulous find indeed, this ledger sheet of travelers on the postseason "goodwill" tour in January 1924 is a virtual Who's Who of the baseball world of the Roating Twenties, carrying the signatures of 39 select players, managers and owners. The trip was made on the S.S. Leviathan, the largest and most opulent steamship in the world at the time. Signatures include HOFers John McGraw, Charles Comiskey, Frank Frisch, Dave Bancroft, Ted Lyons, Travis Jackson, Sam Rice, and Urban "Red" Faber, as well as Heinie Groh, John McInnis, Art Nehf, Irish Meusel, Charles Robertson, Sam Crane, Robert Boyd, Willie Kamm, Bill Walker, etc. All signatures among the best around especially of the HOFers, grading 9s and 10s. Ledger on 8 x 18" lined paper. The back is signed, "Captain Herbert Hartley, s/s Leviathan, 1/24." Only the faintest of browning on this EX-NRMT slice of history.
