1926 Kentucky Derby Program from Churchill Downs

1926 Kentucky Derby Program from Churchill Downs

By the time of the 1926 "Run for the Roses," the Kentucky Derby was already in its 52nd running. This race-day program from May 15, 1926, measuring 3.75x10.5" covers the full slate of races that day including the featured attraction, won by Bubbling Over by five lengths. There is some yellowing of the pages and winners are lightly circled in pencil, but this is one of the nicer-known specimens as the staple-bound issue remains in EX condition with no visible creases or tears. The 1926 Derby victory was one of 10 in just 13 races for Bubbling Over, who finished in the money in all of his starts.
