1926 Lady Byng Presentation Silver Bar
This 1926 Lady Byng presentation trophy presents a stunning display, a sterling and enamel bar in gorgeous design with maple leafs in sparkling colors is of the highest quality. This is a piece of triumphant quality, handmade for the champion of good sportsmanship and gentlemanly play. Her everlasting fame comes from the donation of the Lady Byng Trophy to the National Hockey League in 1925 and is still awarded to this day. Measuring 8.5x2", it is engraved, "To Her Excellency, The Lady Byng of Vimy, A souvenir from her Canadian friends - August 1926." That date coincides with her husband, Lord Byng - the Governor General of Canada - leaving office in September of that Year. We cannot stress enough the quality of this piece. Although unsigned, it is of supremely "royal" craftsmanship and the enamel inset in silver reminds us of the great gems presented to royalty. This wonderful piece, likely made to be a paperweight, ruler, or other such desk ornament, is in MINT condition.
