1926 New York Yankees World Series Signed Baseball
Faded inscription reads, "World Series, New York Yankees - St. Louis Cardinals, October 9, 1926," suggesting that this ball was used in Game Six of the Series, the day before G.C. Alexander's famous strike out of Yankee Tony Lazzeri. The drunken HOF pitcher is here too, though the remainder of the signatures seem to be just Yankees. The Ruth signature on the sweet spot is the strongest (6/10). Gehrig, Bengough and Meusel are about as dark as Alexander (3/10). Nine signatures total, though the balance of the autographs are difficult to identify. An historic piece featuring three of Cooperstown's greatest stars.
