1926 World Series Program Graded GAI 7 NRMT
This magnificently rare and pristine 1926 Cardinals-Yankees World Series program/scorecard from Sportsman's Park has been authenticated and graded by GAI with a grade of NRMT "7". Outstanding as that is, the grading is on the conservative side, as the program is very, very close to flawless, with only a few tiny specks here and there but no visible fraying, darkening or decaying of any kind. Edges and corners are strong for an item of this age. Additionally, the staple-bound spine is drum-tight. Cover shows 2 contented "redbirds" perched upon a red bat above a globe with "For the Championship of the World" printed on in blue, surrounded on 3 sides by red balls with "1926 Official Scorecard" written along the bottom in blue beside a Sportsman's Park decal. Program is snugly encapsulated within a GAI plastic sleeve bearing the grade in a silver tab at top center. The best program in existence from the fabled Series that saw a boozy Grover Cleveland Alexander win game 6, then come out of the bullpen with wobbly legs and bloodshot eyes to save game 7.
