1927 Babe Ruth "Babe Comes Home" Movie Poster

1927 Babe Ruth "Babe Comes Home" Movie Poster

One of only two examples known to exist, this insert-sized poster measures a luscious and very displayable 14x36". One of two discovered in of all places the interior wall of a home being renovated. Perhaps the greatest find ever of the two intersecting categories of movie posters and baseball. One of the most desirable titles of all in the collecting of sports movie posters, anything related to Babe Comes Home is not only rare, but also in the pantheon of aesthetics. This is considered to be the most visual of all the surviving pieces from this most desired title. As an "insert" (referring to its 14x36" size), it is also among the most desired of all the poster's sizes. Thus, this represents a "holy grail" for both baseball and movie poster collectors alike. Babe Comes Home was produced in 1927 to capitalize on his 60 home run season and his leadership of his '27 squad as the greatest team ever. It was also the first time the Babe came even more alive (since his silent debut in Headin' Home), and could be heard on screen. The poster is deftly restored to near perfection. All of the colors are bold and vibrant and the piece features a museum-quality poster-board backing. Gem Mint in appearance. One of only two known to exist.

Addendum: This is actually one of four known to exist, but this is the finest example available out of those.
