1927 Ban Johnson Signed Walter Johnson Day Letter to Clark Griffith (PSA)

1927 Ban Johnson Signed Walter Johnson Day Letter to Clark Griffith (PSA)

This letter signed by Ban Johnson, founder of the American League, is steeped in baseball history. The letter outlines that future Hall of Fame umpire Billy Evans will be assigned to Walter Johnson Day on August 2, 1927, as Evans umped Johnson's first game in Washington roughly twenty years prior. Walter Johnson Day is still recognized today, and in 2012 the Big Train's grandson and hobbyist Hank Thomas threw out the first pitch. Includes PSA LOA.
