1928 Philadelphia Athletics Team Signed Baseball with Eight Hall of Famers!

1928 Philadelphia Athletics Team Signed Baseball with Eight Hall of Famers!

Though the 1928 Philadelphia Athletics did not win the Championship, theirs is still considered one of the all-time great teams as, young and old, this was a squad for the ages. This Official American League (Johnson) baseball contains 30 signatures in black fountain pen ranging from 5-8/10, with most rating around 6.5. More impressively, the ball itself is in very nice condition and has to be one of the best, if not the best out there. It's very clean and grades EX-MT (note that E.S. Barnard took over the American League presidency for Ban Johnson in 1928 and this baseball was most likely a leftover from the 1927 season). The litany of stars includes Ty Cobb on the sweet spot, Zack Wheat, Al Simmons, Mickey Cochrane, Jimmie Foxx, Lefty Grove, Connie Mack, and Eddie Collins, comprising the list of no less than eight Hall of Famers. Also featured are the likes of Kid Gleason, Rube Walberg, Jimmy Dykes, Cy Perkins, Eddie Rommel, Howard Ehmke, and more. Despite finishing with a dominant 98-55 record, the A's fell just short of the pennant-winning Yankees, who swept St. Louis in the World Series.
