1929 Jimmie Foxx Signed Handwritten Letter
Hall of Fame first baseman Jimmie Foxx batted .354 with 33 homers and 118 RBI in 1929, the same year he penned this fabulous, framed and matted letter and mailed it to someone he refers to as "friend jack" in the salutation. The short letter, entirely in Foxx's own hand, is a brief apology for having not gotten back to him sooner because Foxx had been "quite busy." It's unclear if the letter was composed prior to the A's winning the World Series. The writing and signature in pen rate 8/10 and the lot comes with a PSA LOA. Measures 16x22.5" in its frame and includes a modern photo of Foxx.
