1929 World Champion Philadelphia Athletics Signed Panoramic Photograph (PSA)
Fabulous panoramic Type 1 photo of the 1929 Philadelphia Athletics squad that won the World Series. The Athletics dynasty of the period was led by Al Simmons, Mickey Cochrane, and Lefty Grove, and rivaled that of the Yanks, whose 1927 lineup was given the immortal title of "Murderers' Row." The photo was taken by the J. Bozjak studio and has "Philadelphia Athletics American League Pennant Winners 1929" at the bottom. The Athletics torched the AL that year, capturing the pennant by a whopping 18 games. The photo pictures all team members and has been signed by 20 in 7.5/10 fountain ink including Gleason, Mack, Simmons, Grove, Walberg, Bishop, Quinn and more. Eight signatures have been determined to be clubhouse versions and they include Foxx, Cochrane, and Collins. Overall EX-MT condition and framed to 8.5 x 31". Comes with PSA letter. Despite their success, the dynasty was dismantled just a few short years later due to budgetary constraints caused by the Great Depression.
