1930 Chad Valley Pluto Toy in Original ox
One of the rarest of the Chad Valley Disney toys, from the British company's early '30s line of "walking" Disney characters. Chad Valley was at the time the biggest toymakers in the world and the still-fledgling Disney company was eager to have it market Mickey Mouse and Company. They also made some of the best quality toys of the time, far superior to most of the American manufacturers. The 6" long yellow Pluto toy depicted the dizzy dog, head hanging low, between 2 "front legs" attached through the main frame. A touch of the hand would make the pooch amble on its own. Toy is EX-NRMT and comes in the original 1 1/4 x 7 1/4" red box (VG-EX) with "Walt Disney's Pluto the Pup" written on the cover above an illustration of the enclosed toy.
