1930 Travers Program - The Day Jim Dandy Danced In The Rain - Greatest Upset in History

1930 Travers Program - The Day Jim Dandy Danced In The Rain - Greatest Upset in History

This incredibly important program dates from one of those rare upsets in horse racing history that everyone remembers. In the most memorable upset in the 137-year history of Saratoga's Travers Stakes, Jim Dandy beat Triple Crown winner Gallant Fox on August 16, 1930. It was raining all day and Jim Dandy loved the mud. The odds were 100-to-500-1 and some of the bookies were put out of business. Standard size, this program measures 3.75x9" and is one of the few known copies to exist. There are some pencil marks throughout, overall in EX condition.
