1930 Wilbert Robinson Signed Letter
This type-written letter is from long-time Brooklyn manager Wilbert Robinson to fellow Hall of Famer Max Carey upon hearing of Carey's signing on as coach of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Carey had been captain of the Pirates and then dismissed from the team. Robinson writes of his disappointment in Carey's decision and how he had hoped to help Carey in his next career move. Interestingly, following the 1931 season, Robinson was relieved of his post and Carey was announced as his successor. The letter has typical mailing folds and a few minor abrasions around the edges. The signature in black fountain ink grades 8/10.
