1930s Babe Ruth Signed Baseball (PSA)

Displayed is a baseball signed by Babe Ruth, the consensus Greatest of All Time baseball player. There are two other signatures on the ball - secretarial signatures of two great home run hitters, America's Hank Aaron and Japan's Sadaharu Oh. Of course, just as the real-life Babe Ruth naturally always took center stage, his signature on this baseball is in the spotlight at center stage because the Babe Ruth signature was signed by the Babe himself, and naturally, the signature is on the sweet spot. The Hall of Famer's neat, right-handed signature (The Babe was changed from a natural left-handed writer to a right-handed one, a practice common at the time.) His precise, flowing script most likely comes from the strict emphasis on handwriting given to the Babe in the Catholic schools he attended when growing up. As a left-handed slugger, Ruth was so far ahead of his competition that when he hit his then record-setting 60 home runs in 1927, he hit more homers by himself than did any other TEAM in the American League. Ruth started out in the Major Leagues as a left-handed pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, and he had a lifetime record of 94-46, and once held the World Series record for pitching consecutive scoreless innings at 29.2. In 1919, Ruth led the American Leagues with a Major League record 29 home runs, and he also went 9-5 as a pitcher. When Ruth was traded to the New York Yankees after the 1919 season, he became a full-time outfielder. When Ruth was finished slugging home runs, he had a then-record 714 round-trippers. Ruth's signature is somewhat faded, but still legible. The signature is on an Official National League Baseball (Ford Frick), and the ball is in excellent condition. The Babe's signature is big and bold, just like the man himself. The Babe swung for the fences. He once commented, " If I was going for them dinky singles, I'd have hit .500." An exaggeration? Possibly But not by much. A signed Babe Ruth baseball causes anyone, baseball fan or not, to take notice. A signed Babe Ruth ball adds home run power to any collection.
