1930s Japanese Matchbook Label Collection (2,000+ pieces)
Unlike anything we have ever seen. Collection of 2,000+ colorful matchbook "box" labels have been glued into this vintage scrapbook. They are wonderful graphically from a bygone era with images of everything from Geishas to erotica. You will see marvelous art deco imagery from all industries under the sun; tea shops, stores, cigarette and other types of advertising, hotels and inns, hot springs, transportation and automobiles, and more, carefully assembled on 90 pages. From all over Japan, this was from a serious traveler and collector of the period. There are even a series of labels from the west coast of the United States including San Francisco and Seattle. These are simply marvelous and overall in Excellent condition.
