1931 Al Simmons Signed Homerun Baseball

1931 Al Simmons Signed Homerun Baseball

This Official American League orb got smacked into home run territory by one of the true greats of any time, outfielder Al Simmons, on July 30, 1931 - just check the ball, where among all the signed names from fellow Philadelphia players, is the vintage notation of the date, and “homerun” on one of the panels. After the ball was caught in the stands, it was signed by the Athletics players, including Hall of Famer Al Simmons, Jimmie Foxx, Lefty Grove, Connie Mack and more. Most signatures are light and the average condition is 4/10. The ball shows use and is toned from being coated with shellac; there is the occasional white mark from missing, chipped shellac.
