1931 Charles Comiskey Letter to His Future Player Billy Sullivan Jr. (PSA)
Incredible letter shows the friendly exchange between White Sox owner Charles Comiskey and future Major Leaguer, Billy Sullivan Jr.. Sullivan would later that year be signed and debut his career with the White Sox. Letter is addressed to Billy's college, Notre Dame, and states, "I was delighted indeed to receive your letter upon your return to school after the wonderful trip. Would like to know how you played in those games and with what success the team met in this contest. I assure you I appreciate more than I can tell you of your friendly interest and the splendid letter you have written me, and I want to thank you for your kindness. I am looking into the matter of Hank Garrity and the thought occurred to me that you might be friendly with the young man and might drop him a line if he is free and ascertain if he would to come with the White Sox after he has completed his scholastic course. We are doing likewise today, making mention of the fact this recommendation came through you. I am delighted indeed to know your father is feeling so well and wish to be remembered very kindly to him, and with my best wishes and kindest regards to you, I am as ever Very truly yours." Signed in blue ink, 8/10, and on nice Worlds Champion White Sox stationery. Folded, otherwise EX. Comes with PSA LOA.
