1932 "The Good Earth" Transcribed by Pearl S. Buck to Alla Nazimova

1932 "The Good Earth" Transcribed by Pearl S. Buck to Alla Nazimova

Incredible copy of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Good Earth signed and personalized by Pearl S. Buck to Alla Nazimova. The two women, each in their own way, were staunch advocates of women's rights in America. Nazimova was the first openly lesbian Hollywood actress, and engaged in highly publicized affairs with the wives of silent film star Rudolph Valentino. The connection between Buck and Nazimova is that the latter appeared in the Broadway presentation of The Good Earth, playing the lead role of O-Lan. This special edition book comes with original slip case. It is fragile, with the cover being separated, but it could be re-bound.
