Hialeah Park originally opened for thoroughbred racing in January of 1925. However, it was damaged by a hurricane, sold, and redesigned with influence from tracks around the world. The new Hialeah Park opened in 1932 to rave reviews. This panoramic photograph depicts the massive crowd gathered on opening day of 1934. Printed on the photo is the text, "Opening Day of the greatest race track in the world, Hialeah Park Fla., Miami Jockey Club, January 25th, 1934." The photo credit for William J. Fallon is listed next to the inscription. The photo appears EX in the original frame. There is some slight water staining at the top-right corner, and a very small (size of a nickel) portion of the photo is stuck to the glass. Frame measures 9x36.5".
