1935 "Best Picture" Columbia Pictures Oscar
This shattering symbol is the most famous award image in human memory. The front plaque is engraved, "Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences First Award COLUMBIA PICTURES For the Best Picture of the Year." On the verso a matching plaque reads, "15th Anniversary Columbia Pictures 1920-1935." Oscar stands 6" tall and is exacting in every way to the larger one (made by same manufacturer). This was the type presented to child stars like Shirley Temple. It was likely presented at an Oscars Awards Dinner commemorating the 15th Anniversary of Columbia Pictures. .
