1936 Louis Schmelling I Fight Film Poster
On June 19, 1936, Joe Louis and Max Schmeling fought in the main event at Yankee Stadium. Louis was undefeated and a rising star in the division. This fight was seen as another stepping stone to a title shot for Louis. In a stunning upset Schmeling would KO Louis in the 12th round. Presented here is an original poster advertising the showing of the fight film from this event. Poster is cardboard with bold color and print. Chipped in lower left corner, and has some edge and corner wear and some minor soiling. Measures 14"x22", very scarce original poster.
