1937 Snow White Wade Heath Tea Set in Box
Wade Heath, the British pottery company famous for making delicate ceramic jugs, vases and bowls with art deco style themes, obtained the Disney license to use characters from the movie "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" in 1937. The result was the creation of a line of this now-overly rare mini tea set consisting of 4 teacups, a sugar bowl and 4 platters. All but 2 platters have splendid color renderings produced by famed ceramic modeler Jessie Van Hallen, including Snow White on the bowl, Happy and Dopey on 2 of the cups (and small animals on the other 2 cups), Doc and Sleepy on 2 of the platters. The set is flawless with no chipping or cracking at all, and comes in the great original cardboard box (impossible to find) arrayed with pastel color images of all of the characters from the movie, including The Queen and various animals. Tea set NRMT, box EX+ with minor separations of the cardboard on the box top's corner edges.
