1938 Gabby Hartnett Telegram Collection (approx. 100)
One hundred Western Union telegrams serve as historical documentation for the terrific, pennant-winning season of 1938 for the catcher/manager of the Cubs, and future HOF'er. All are congratulatory in nature, for being named manager and for his pennant win. Great one from Warren Giles, N.L. prez: "…Now get yourself in shape so you can beat the Yankees…" Another from Joe E. Brown, and from Toots Shor. Comiskey and Harridge as well. Far too many to list, in overall EX-MT condition.
